A Pastor and a Police Officer |
"Be the change you want to see in the world."

Mine was not a typical road to law enforcement. As a pastor, I wanted to learn how I could best support our local police department. In 2019, I attended an 8-week program called the Citizens Police Academy; a program designed to provide local citizens with a hands-on, behind the scenes look at police work and the inner workings of the Greenville Police Department.
The more I learned, the more I began to see how my training and experience as a pastor could be used to serve community as a police officer. I wanted to make a difference. And so, in January of 2020, at the age of 50, I enrolled in the Police Academy at Pitt Community College and began my basic law enforcement training full time. I graduated from the academy in May of 2020 and was hired immediately by the Greenville Police Department where I continue to serve as a patrol officer. |

My goal has been to serve my local community as a police officer, serve my fellow-officers as a role model, and serve my local church as a pastor. In January of 2021 I became the stated supply Pastor of Falkland Presbyterian Church where I continue to preach, teach, guide the session, provide pastoral care, and lead worship.
